PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
February 9, 2010
Dear Fellow Dowites:
Happy New Year to all. Firstly, I would like to welcome and congratulate the members of the Executive Council 2010. Then I would like to congratulate the Executive Council 2009 and Muslim Jami, Past President, for a successfully completed year. I look forward to working with all my Executive Council members, Chairs and members of the different Committees. We have great plans and are looking forward to a productive year ahead and I am looking forward to your support and cooperation.
We have plans for the further advancement of the publication, communication, membership, CME and policies and procedures committees. We will be working hard in these committees and plan on updating you at the retreat and summer meeting on these issues .In the future issues of the publication you will see an urdu section and a residents and fellows section as well.
We are also planning on working closely with DUHS and developing our visiting faculty program further. There are multiple opportunities where each of you can get involved and play a pivotal role in strengthing our ties with our Alma Mater. Another goal we have is more involvement of the Residents and Fellows and Young Physicians in DOGANA, with that idea we have different programs first one being a programme which meets their need at the Spring Retreat in St.Louis.
We are starting a funding campaign $500 by 500 Dowites .This is going to go towards a residency position for a Dow Graduate. We will discuss the details in the spring meeting .Please donate towards this fund and come to the Spring Retreat to find out more about this.
Lastly, I would request everyone to work in unison for DOGANA. A nation united prospers. Similarly, if we are united and work with sincerity, putting aside any conflicts and personal agendas, we will be better able to serve our organization and our Alma Mater.
We are all very successful individuals and have achieved much independently. Imagine what we can achieve if we are united. I am looking forward to a great year ahead with all of you.
