PWA Thalasemia day care center needs 10000 $ to complete its renovation project.

DOGANA PHILANTHROPY has pledged it support for the of a Thalassemia Day care
center, in Civil hospital Karachi. This centre is being run and managed by the
DMC student volunteers of Patients' Welfare Association, with the total
establishment cost of Rs. 1,316,500."

The Patients' Welfare Association is the largest student run N.G.O. a
non-political organization in Pakistan, run by the students of Dow Medical
College, and is known for its impeccable records of financial transactions and
annual audits to ensure each penny is spent for the cause . Their motto is "we
feel we serve"

The PWA currently operates a Voluntary Blood Bank which provides free blood
/blood products with screening for blood borne pathogens per WHO guidelines ,
Diagnostic Laboratory ,TB clinic for complete 9-12 months therapy to hundreds of
TB patients, General Follow-up Clinic which provides long-term therapy to the
patients suffering from Epilepsy, Diabetes, Hypertension, Asthma and SLE,and a
Thalassemia Follow-up Clinic which provides blood transfusion, medications and
regular check-ups to more than 110 children suffering from this disease.

All these services are provided free of cost to the patients . and the
operations of the association are supported through voluntary donations and
Zakat money .The volunteers spend extra time and make extra effort to ensure
theZakat money is only used according to the Fiqh Guidelines.

DOGANA PHILANTHROPY has pledged its support for the Thalassemia Day-Care Center
(TDC), at Civil Hospital Karachi. The TDC is a public private partnership
project between the Government of Sindh and PWA. This center will be
independently run and managed by student volunteers of Patients' Welfare
Association (PWA) with the help of generous donors and support from Civil
Hospital Karachi. The estimated total establishment cost is Rs. 1,316,500.00
,off which 600000 + has already been raised. DOGANA Philanthropy will provide
the remaining funds for the establishment cost
